Wenzel Drivelines
The Industry Standard
Due to the tremendous force placed on modern directional drilling bottom hole assemblies, more and more is asked of drilling motor drivelines where torque is directed from the eccentric fluid motion of the power section to the concentric motion of the bit. Because this section of the BHA is so critical to the success of a run, we have continuously improved the designs of our drivelines and provide a number of options to give drillers exactly what they need for success.

Driveline features:
- Efficient power transfer from rotor to bearing assembly
- High torque and weight-on-bit capacity
- Hardened components with corrosion-resistant coatings that ensure endurance and durability
- Articulating, flex and hybrid flex configurations for directional and thru tubing applications
- Single-piece drive shaft to rotor connection (in flex and hybrid flex designs) eliminates accelerated wear caused by power sections with high nutational motion
- Drivelines are adaptable to fit/retrofit any motor
- Standard build in premium steel
- Available in high-performance titanium:
- Exceptional chemical/corrosion resistance, particularly in high brine formulations
- Full-flex driveline design makes the most of this premium, fatigue resistant material
- Shrink fitted into threaded steel hubs to allow for conventional thread repair and to take advantage of higher yield strength of steel at connection
- Ultimate reliability
- Universal joints available in either WK5 or ST1 designs (read more below)
ST1
Serious Torque
- Maximized design makes the most of available envelope, providing the largest radii and contact area possible
- All points of contact and articulation are centered on the same point, which ensures smooth motion during operation even at high bends and nutational motion
- Thanks to its symmetric design, the ST1 is just as capable handling reverse torque as it is delivering high ROP
- Fewer moving parts = fewer variables and easier service/assembly
WK5
The WZL Original
- The WK5 builds upon success of predecessors by adding 100% more bearing contact area to previous designs
- Significantly more contact area than competitor designs
- Reduced stress on joint
- Four bearing surfaces equally distribute force and wear
- Decades of proven success
